With “In Nomine Satanas” Ragnarok delivers their already fourth solid black metal album. These fellow countrymen of bands as Marduk and Dark Funeral also seem to grow each release. “In Nomine Satanas” has become a raw up-tempo black metal release with some slower phrases so now and then for a melodic part or a solo. It doesn’t differ that much from their previous release “Diabolical Age”. Vocally it all varies between a rasping black throat and some lower grunts. | |
The production of this release is sparkling but raw, and that’s how it should be. Songs as “A Nights Kingdom” or “In Inferno I Drown” therefore certainly need to be heard. Although this band is from Sweden they more sound like if they were from Norway. The thrash influences in some of the songs make this record complete. Food for the underground black metal fans who shit on commerce.
