FRAMES A SECOND is not for the weak hearted. This electro/industrial music is darker and moodier than a lot of people can handle. “Disorientated Xpress” isn’t about noise, but the loops, samples and electronics got a threatening melody. Sometimes the effect is enhanced by some sampled screaming voices. It creates an atmosphere you only find in the most disturbing horror movies. Not that Hollywood kind, but an underground classic will do. That the music seems to be inspired by (mis)communication show song titles like ‘Specified Information’ and ‘Cycle Of Misinformation’. | |
That ‘Silence Is Bad’, is proven by a slowly growing and repeating bass sound during that track.
The overall result is an impressive eerie journey into the depth of darkness. This album is just a voyage into a distant world. All songs build up a tension that gets to you. Most of them got a slow tempo, but the fact that several small things are added into the music keeps it interesting. FRAMES A SECOND proves that songs of five to seven minutes don’t have to be boring at all. Great record…
