Bad Ambition was formed out of the remains of the Italian prog-rock band Eden in 1998. Although Bad Ambition plays traditional hardrock there are still some prog influences. The sound of their debut album Daydream is clean and clear. Violins, grand piano and synthesizers make it a `big` sound. The band play tight (the basic tracks have been recorded live) and they are more than capable musicians. | |
The band could use a more powerful and rougher sound. It`s a bit weak now. Especially the drums sound like they come from an eighties rhythm box. The quality of the songs varies during the album. Everytime I hear some good stuff it`s followed by a weaker or very predictable part. Van Halen, Europe and Steve Vai seem to be their main ifluences. Bad Ambition doesn`t reach those standards yet.
