Russian guitarist, singer and composer Alexey Nelidov has been part of the Russian hardrock scene since 1983. Having played in various bands like Orden and Angels & Demons Nelidov has gained quiet a name in his home country. The styles of the bands varied from bluesrock to jazzrock. During the nineties Nelidov started working on a solo project called Toleranvce. In 1997 the selftitled debut album was released in Russia only (through two labels: Soyuz and MetalAgen). Still the album scored 6 out of 7 points in Germany`s Metal Hammer magazine. Now the album has been re-released for the whole European market through the Italian label Midnight Records (a division of Northwind Records). ` So, what`s the album like..` I can hear you think.

Well, it`s pretty varied, though it`s all hardrock/AOR. Some ballads, some riff based songs and some stuff in between. Most of it is kind of eighties, but In Comparison With Life for example is the traditional bleusy/countryrock song all rock bands in the seventies included on their albums. Let`s say it`s intelligent Hardrock. Both Nelidov`s guitarwork and vocals are in check. He has a light voice with a good range. Sometimes he overacts a little. The music is pretty melodic as well. The guest musicians discharge their duty well. Sometimes the band show of a bit, but that fits with the music. Overall the songs are a bit cliche, especially the ballads. Still, there`s some really good stuff on the album as well.
