The music of MELOTRON is best described as electro pop, a bit like a German Depeche Mode. MELOTRON however have a sound of their own. Especially the vocalist has a typical voice. There’s also a more danceable vibe to this German band. It all sounds more positive than the worldwide known acts in this genre. Listen to ‘Du Bist Es Nicht Wert’, about someone who isn’t worth the pain that the singer feels. The remix of this song (the sixth song on this EP) is called ‘Du Bist Es (Immer Noch) Nicht Wert’ (you’re still not worthy). MELOTRON has the ability to write and perform songs in a very pleasant way.

It’s not that this band will strike you with difficult song structures, but they produce songs that have a certain twist and feeling. It all sounds great and easy, but having that ability is a quality on its own. The music is not as static as I might make it sound right now, because songs like ‘Wenn Es Nichts Mehr Gibt’ and ‘Ich Bin, Wie Ich Bin’ show that the band puts different layers in their synthesizer music. This E.P. has just six songs of quality electro pop… There’s a video of ‘Tanz Mit Dem Teufel’ on this E.P. as well. That song explains again that writing hit material is a gift.
