A history of 10 years of making heart-throbbing music filled with quality punk rock without spots and pimples. Dave Smalley (former lead singer for All and Dag Nasty and active in the punk rock scene since 1983), vocalist and guitar player, teamed up with The Chemical People in 1991, just to make a little music. Down By Law was born and quickly discovered by Epitaph. Long story short? Well, they’re still punk rocking with more punk than rock. Or as they call it in their own words: music from the heart. Now, 10 years after their first album hit the streets, Down By Law and Epitaph release a "best of" album which has been put together by their fans through a poll on the Down By Law website. A very nice initiative with a great assembly of Down By Law’s powerpunkstyle songs.

All of their albums are well represented, except the often criticized Last Of The Sharpshooters (thank you for choosing the fantastic No Equalizer). For the die-hard fans there’s not much new on this "best of" album, except for the two video clips (Radio Ragga and Hit Or Miss) and the previously unreleased Big Country cover, ‘In a Big Country`. For punk rock fans in general this album paints a pretty Down By Law picture, and will fit very well in any punk rock collection. Dave Smalley’s characteristic voice, the personal lyrics, the smooth guitar work and melodies, it’s all there. It’s what makes Down By Law unique; it makes them Down By Law. No comparison.
