That the art of making extreme death metal also spread itself over the Asian part of our planet was is no longer a secret. Borrowing some tricks, riffs and licks from their heroes add some of your own ingredients to it, enter a studio and blast 13 songs on a demo tape which got under the attention of above mentioned record label. And that is exactly what happened with Absolute Defiance, formerly known as Vile (The name had to change because of the American band Vile). Absolute Defiance was found in 1998 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and “Systematic Terror Decimation” is their debut release that actually was earlier released as demo tape. This release contains extreme death metal, highly influenced by bands as Cannibal Corpse (vocals, and some riffs) but also bands as old Dying Fetus (“Feeding the Famished Zombie”) seemed to have reached the band.

And yes, songs as “Maggot Infestator” or “Dehumanized” are above the average. The drums sound if they could not have been done faster, the grunts are deep and low, the riffs are well found. But in to grow above the average an own addition to the sound has to be done. The 13 songs on this release mainly have the same character and breaks, the few songs with the hardcore touch not included. And perhaps that’s a part of the sound they have to bring some more into the music. The production sounds pretty al right, except for the very annoying snare sound (except on the extra three bonus tracks with older demo material). All in all, a more than average death release. But guys tune your guitars before going into the studio or try tuning them higher.
