RAIN FELL WITHIN

Rain Fell Within combines Gothic Metal with high opera-like female vocals. Singer Dawn has a good voice and as far as I can judge her technical skills are ok as well. The problem is that she seems to sing the same song all through the album. And that song never has a clear melody. That makes it a bit tedious.

Musically the songs are alike as well. In short: Rain Fell Within is too much of a one trick pony. A pity, because in essence the concept works. The simple yet effective riffs combined with the dreamy vocals create a romantic atmosphere but that in itself is not enough. For real gothic metal fans only.
