On Friday night I saw a live performance of Negationist. They where presenting their latest release, a MCD called ‘In seas of blasphemy’. This MCD contains four tracks and lasts a little over 16 minutes. The four songs on this album are ‘Entrapped by your deceit’, ‘Worship the beauty of death’, ‘In seas of blasphemy’ and ‘Eternal damnation’. All songs are fast, furious and full of hate, which we see a lot these days. Negationist describes their music as hyperblasting black/death metal (it is quite amusing to see how bands describe their own music, ‘Rhapsody’ once called their music epic melodic Hollywood metal).

The four songs on this MCD are well played and recorded. Especially the title song I find very interesting, because of the way the vocalist and backing vocalist alternate eachother. This gives rise to a very aggressive atmosphere, which I like. All in all this MCD contains four aggressive black metal songs, which sound quite nice. It’s a pity that this MCD has only four tracks, I sure would be pleased if there would be more on it. For those who are interested, this album can be ordered.
