Last year when I had seen the band at the Graspop festival, I dug into my record collection, and found their debut album. A record I had almost forgotten about, but that I started playing a lot again. This kangaroo- rockers` debut album filled with straight ahead blues orientated rockers was a mile stone back then; but I realised it was still fascinating now. Two more studio albums followed, and then in 1983 it got quiet. After a period of 10 years, Rose Tattoo became active again, playing live gigs.
Now Rose Tattoo is back with another studio album “Pain”, and when life is fair, this is another future classic. | |
The band is flaming and the music is loaded with pure energy! The songs are honest, very catchy and still straightforward. It must have been a hell of a job writing an almost 60 minutes long album, staying true to your roots, yet putting so much variation into it, to keep the attention of the listener. The voice of angry Anderson is non-compromising, raw, expressive and powerful. Both the production and the songs themselves are as rock-and-roll as rock-and-roll can be!
