Initially Go Tee started as a project founded by Thé Hogervorst in 1999. It became a real band in the year 2001 when guitar player Peter van der Meulen (Anguish, Jetlag, Stealclaw) joined forces with this Dutch project. According to the bio Go Tee plays a mixture of traditional metal and more modern rock, like Deftones and Rammstein. Well, that’s my major point concerning “Default”: while bands like Deftones have got a large share of spontaneity, that’s what I’m missing here by Go Tee.

Don’t get me wrong, tracks such as “Bleed”, “Get Some” and “Nightbreed” are well-played metal songs, but they are just babbling on and on. By this type of songs you expect a kind of spark, and that’s exactly what’s missing here. Maybe one of the reasons is the absence of a real drummer and the use of a drum machine, which normally kills a lot of spontaneity.
