As soon as you play this CD, you’ll notice the resemblance with Slipknot; hard, loud and fast. But not only the music reminds you of this American shock-metal band, the members do as well. Where the members of Slipknot have the numbers 0-8 as nicknames, the 8 members of Mushroomhead have nicknames such as Skinny, Gravy and Stitch (reminds me of a certain Disney movie in theatres right now…). And, like Slipknot, these guys also wear scary masks and face paint, as could be seen at the Ozzfest festival, and which made Ozzy decide to take this band.

The hard lyrics (tell me, why is there no “Parental Advisory” sticker on this CD?) about life’s struggles are a bit KoRn-like, and will appeal to many youngsters in puberty trying to shock their parents (which could also be seen at the festival mentioned above). If you like Slipknot, you will like Mushroomhead as well. If not, you won’t. Sorry.
