This is the debut album of electro pop band DISTORTED REALITY; consisting of American lead singer Martha Arce (also the lead singer of Deep Red) and keyboard player Christian Kobusch from Germany, who together create excellent and accessible electro pop. The pleasant voice of Martha in combination with well-written compositions creates an album of high quality, dealing with the experiences during and after an emotional love affair. Feelings of desire, anger, lust, suspicion and grief are emotions that anyone should recognize. Although the album is definitely electro orientated, a lot of gothic rock/metal fans should also give this album a chance, because the song structures got some rock influences as well.

Especially emotional, melancholic songs like ‘Haunted’ (with a striking piano), the beautiful ballad ‘Your Only Jewel’, and the almost Garbage-like ‘You Want Me, You Hate Me’, the tension of ‘Sleeper Awaken’ and the danceable electro of ‘Fieber’ are worth mentioning. That the dance floor could be filled with this album, is thanks to the special remixes of ‘In My Dream’ (by Propaganda), ‘Fear’ (by Sabotage QCQC) and ‘Dance Factor’ (by Noyce).
