The electro pop of Rouven Walterowicz (vocals and composition) and Marc Pollmann (arrangement and programming) has got a familiar feeling. It’s not that the band is directly copying any other bands, but it has the same intention of acts like Diorama, Neuroticfish, Apoptygma Berzerk and – for instance – Wolfsheim. Although the music sounds pretty predictable at first, the band members surely have attention for small details. If you only listen to the music you will notice that there’s more to it than just playing easy tunes. Listen for instance to a song like ‘Punishment’ in which you will hear a strange sound like your CD is slipping instead of just playing the music.

Therefore the band needs more credit than to be written off as just an electro pop band. Songs like ‘Die Liebe’ and ‘Help Me’ are great single material. The pleasant voice of Rouven in combination with the well-performed music give ENDANGER their own place in this crowded scene. There’s actually no bad song on this record, so if you’re into electro pop (or the earlier mentioned bands) then you have to give this band a chance as well.
