Two albums filled with totally different music. This compilation ranges from medieval/ folk music up to dark electro. CD 1 is definitely the quieter one. Songs from Predella Avant (‘Predella Avant Pt. II’, Hello Helium Vola), Legendary Pink Dots (‘Shining Path’), Opera Multi Steel (‘Christ’), Novalis (‘Bloody’) and Tempesta Noire (‘Book Of Life’) prove that. First electro song is the nice danceable ‘The City Guard’ from Vomito Negro. This is actually one of the better songs from their latest album “Fireball”. Other noticeable songs on disc 1 are from Astrea Redux (‘Before’), Sobriquet (‘Broken Angel’) and Siderartica (‘Still For One Night’), but at that stage we’re more into the electro/ambient sounds. CD 2 starts in the line of the first songs of CD 1. | |
DDR create the same moody dark atmosphere, but the choir is supported with some electronic sounds. Aslan Faction proves with the beautiful ‘Bring On The Dying’ that a female voice, distorted male voice and dark electro can provide a perfect mixture of danceable sounds. Cyborg Attack shows with ‘Agony’ again that their record “Blutgeld” contains some impressive industrial/electro. Subhuman sounds with ‘Alles Teuflische!’ like Feindflug. The Dutch NG-Pro shows with ‘Angels’ that good danceable electro doesn’t always have to come from Germany or Belgium. You can conclude that this third Triton compilation offers a good impression of what’s ‘hot’ in the gothic/electro scene today. (Beautevil) |
