Hold on. This is not the new Snapcase album. Their new album entitled End Transmission will be released on September 24th on Victory Records. How will their unique sound progress and in what direction will they move further? Part of the answer can be found in the 2-song promo sampler (unfortunately without a lyric sheet) as distributed by Victory Records. The 2 songs on the sampler are called ‘Coagulate’ and ‘Exile Etiquette’. Where the song ‘Coagulate’ perfectly fits in the soundscapes released on their albums ‘Progression Through Unlearning’ and ‘Designs For Automotive’, the song ‘Exit Etiquette’ has more room for depth and atmosphere. Snapcase have always been a hardcore act with a huge sense of adventure, always scouting the limitations of the hardcore sound in general.

The guitar sound is still wallowed in distortion (even more so then on the album ‘Designs For Automation’), Daryl Taberski still sounds furious on the vocals and in general the unique sound of Snapcase isn’t badhandled or abused. This is still undeniably Snapcase.

It’s obviously difficult to estimate anything based on only two songs. What I can tell you is that Snapcase will always push their limits with every album they release. So expect another step in their evolution as a band. And remember... September 24th, new album, Snapcase!
