While speeding at around 170 kilometers an hour on the French highways Sven decided to listen to some Boulder. Not knowing what to expect; but things turned out fine. Although Sven had been told Boulder plays furious punk rock, he would rather describe it as furious heavy rock. The music’s got quite a wild sound with a lot of guitar solos. Sometimes the solos remind Sven a bit of Iron Maiden or Megadeth; not saying that they are unoriginal. All of the songs are in the mid- to upper tempo range and have been carefully constructed so they don’t become annoying. | |
All the vocals are nice and raw suiting this kind of rock perfectly. In contradiction to all this, the lyrics aren’t that good. A lot of it seems to be about women but they don’t really make much of an impression on Sven. Tying things up; Reaped In Half is worth listening to. Even though the lyrics aren’t that good Sven certainly liked the wild guitar solos. If Boulder ever tour the Netherlands there’s a big chance Sven will be banging his head somewhere in the audience.
