One of Holland’s most successful extreme death metal acts of this moment probably is Severe Torture. And after the release of “Feasting On Blood” things went pretty well for the band. They played many gigs and even went to America to do some touring with Cannibal Corpse. After the “Butchery Of The Soul MCD”, it now is time to release “Misanthropic Carnage”. And to kill all speculations; this probably is going to be the best extreme death metal violence from our country that will be brought out this year.

Most of the songs are played at grinding speeds, sometimes varied with some up-tempo double bass parts or a Morbid Angel-like slower part. But the typical ingredients of Severe Torture are also present this time. The very low death grunt, the fantastic bass playing and of course the combination of typical Severe Torture guitar riffs and the extreme drums.

Instant death classics as “Carnivorous Force” or the title song “Misanthropic Carnage” pound like hell, and I’m sure this will attract many other death fans.

It also seems like Severe Torture took some more time for the recordings. The guitar parts contain more double layers this time (“Impelled To Kill”). The production is alright and comparable with “Feasting On Blood”. Severe Torture is one hell of a death act and with “Misanthropic Carnage” they will come, see and conquer. So get ready to see them live with Cannibal Corpse in the fall, when they will be touring together across Europe. The blasphemy never dies.
