SPV Poland is re-issuing the entire back catalogue of Attrition for Europe. “The Hidden Agenda” was originally released in 1993. At that moment the band’s line-up was Martin Bowes (founder and mastermind, voice/electronics & programming) and Julia Walter (vocals). The result is both alienating and beautiful; the combination of heavy, almost whispering voices of Martin, the high ‘over the top’ opera-like voice of Julia and the depth and changes within the music (a combination of classic instruments with samples/electro).

It’s strange that an album from almost nine years ago can sound so familiar. It makes you sometimes wonder what the progress is of the current electro scene… Or was Attrition just ahead of their time??? Good to have such a pleasant re-issue.
