A Gothic Rock pearl during the Castle Party in Bolkow was definitely CLOSTERKELLER. Although it appears that there’s a new record (a “Best Of…”) and that this record was originally released in 1999, we believe that it would be good to give you an impression of the one CD we got our hands on, “Graphite”. The band is formed around leading lady Anja Orthodox. Her deep voice makes CLOSTERKELLER easy to recognize. The music of the band varies from rock, dark wave, progressive rock and metal to pop. Therefore this album keeps your attention from the beginning till the end. | |
CLOSTERKELLER isn’t afraid to make some sidesteps in their music and that’s why you can find rock anthems (like ‘Ate’, ‘Sztuka Ambicji’), emotional wave/ rock (like ‘Na Krawedzi’), pop (like ‘Syrenka’, ‘Inny Obszar’), metal ( ‘Miwosc Za Pieniadze’) as well as emotional ballads (like ‘Zakleta W Marmur’ and the beautiful ‘Czas Komety’) on this CD. Have to admit that the Polish (Eastern European) language is made for melancholic music like this. Even if you don’t understand a word of it, the music still lets shivers run down your spine… (Beautevil) |
