Some bands never seem to get enough of it. More than 20 years in the business, and lots of classic rock songs, which still inspire the young rock generation. If there had been a gossip magazine for rock music, this band would have been front-page news many times. It took a lot of splits and reunions between Schenker and Mogg, to get to this final (?) reunion. But this only seems to enlarge the chemistry between the two. Like in a relationship, it’s good making up after a domestic fight. And it must be said: the friction must have been very fruitful in the production of a monster album like this. Rock ‘n’ roll (in the 70s this was called: Hard Rock), the way it must be: honest, and straight in your face.
Very strong songs, maybe some future classics (“Outlaw Man, ”Sea Of Faith”, “Fighting Man”) and a clear, direct production.

Bassplayer Pete Way and drummer Aynsley Dunbar, taking care of a solid basis, and the vocals of Phil Mogg seem not to have suffered at all from the years, they seem to be better than ever. Mogg’s vocal lines again push the straight-ahead rock to a higher level. As for the guitars: Schenker puts his box of magic skills completely in service of the songs, with some very fitting rhythm, slide, and clean guitars, and not showing off his 10,000 notes per minute (they are hidden in the arrangements), but very straight from the heart solo work. Pity some songs are faded out at moments that I would like to hear some more.
