Glenn Hughes is a well-known name in rock, with his contributions to Deep Purple, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, and a lot of other bands and solo projects. This latest album, Different Stages, also has the subtitle Best Of. This can be confusing, because it’s a collection of the most recent solo albums Feel, Addiction, (the more soul/blues oriented albums) The Way It Is, Return Of Crystal Karma, and Building The Machine.
To appeal a bit more to the people who are only familiar with the Deep Purple past of Hughes, they have added some classics from this period, from the album Burning Japan Live, performed by Hughes and a few former Europe members. | |
This double CD gives you value for money, it’s a nice selection of the recent Hughes work. But calling this a “Best Of”? Then I sure miss some things, like the huge hit with The KLF, and the original versions of some classics. (Cor) |
