Misery Index is the new band of three former Dying Fetus members. They have already released a split CD with Commit Suicide and a mini CD named Overthrow, which was released through the band’s own Anarchos label and has been licensed to Fadeless Records for a European Release. The CD is different from the American version because it includes three live tracks and two video tracks. Because my colleague Martin reviewed the original release in April of this year (go check it out!), I’ll just review the extras.

There are three live tracks (five if you count the videos as well). The first two are from the split CD with Commit Suicide (“Alive?” and “My Untold Apocalypse”), the third is from Overthrow itself.

All songs are played extremely well but hey, what else can you expect from such great musicians? The sound is pretty good. Only because they thanked the audience at the end I could hear these songs were played live.

As for the videos (also songs from Overthrow), the image quality is fairly poor and the sound quality is hardly any better but all in all they give a good impression of a Misery Index gig, and a blasting one that is! A full length album is expected for the end of the year and I can imagine a lot of people will be eagerly waiting for this. So am I.
