The promo Rockezine got from 7th Nemesis, which rose from Sargana`s ashes, only has three songs on it. It was very hard to get a good impression of the band, because just a few songs don’t tell much. That’s why my description of their music may not be covering this band completely.
The three songs on this promo will be present on their first album Violentia Imperatrix Mundi, which is now in preparation. They recorded these three songs in April 2002 and they are busy with the rest of the album.
After listening to the promo a few times, I really started to like the songs. The first time I was not really sure what to think of the prominent grunts. But these grunts are not bad at all, especially not when they are used in combination with screams, which can be found a lot on this promo. | |

Not only the vocals are influenced by both death and black, but also the guitars have an equilibrium between the two. I like bands that mix different styles, because it creates a wider aspect of musical possibilities. It is very nice that one single song can remind me of Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth and Necrophobic at the same time.
The songs on this promo are called ‘7th Banner’, ’Omega Dei’ and ‘Phoenix Resurrectio’. The last one does not touch me, but the first two are dazzling. Brutal, heavy, varied and insane are words that come to mind, when I think of this band.
7th Nemesis must be kept in sight, for I think this is a promising band, full of possibilities. (Pieke) |
