Against The World is the fourth album of this German AOR band and unfortunately really nothing special. The whole album is filled with extremely standard melodic rock songs and although they are well played, they lack the hooks needed to be really interesting. Most of the songs drag on and on without the necessary amount of variation so it all gets really boring after three songs already.
The production is okay but lacks balls and combined with the not too energetic songs, this leads to an album that really doesn’t have much to offer. The music isn’t all that original either and bands like Journey, Toto and Def Leppard quickly come to mind. | |
If only this band would show some emotion in their music or some variation. It is all so straightforward; the songs are all played at the same speed and I really have a hard time struggling through the 40 minutes.
The lyrics are also the usual AOR stuff. This album is in my opinion a totally redundant release. If you dig the older Frontline albums I am certain you will dig this new album too, but I am afraid that not many new fans will be attracted by this lackluster performance.
