On this album the members of Thine are trying to conquer all the personal problems they have experienced since the 1996 release of their debut album, ‘A Town Like This’. After the first couple of tracks it`s obvious this band knows how to translate their problems into darkish music. The album starts out quite special but after a couple of songs, all the excitement disappears and the band start to repeat itself.
Their music has influences of a couple of great bands like Radiohead and Arid. | |
It’s a shame the high vocals, which remind me of Coldplay/REM, sound a bit hollow and don’t do justice to the darker, heavier music. The double vocals don’t add anything and basically just disturb and distract the attention from the music.
All in all this is not a bad cd. Metalminded readers with an interest in Britpop might want to check this album out, you might like it. (Geert) |
