Oxydes provides us with a combination between soundscapes and dark ambient music. The trip through the barren landscape of Oxydes is sometimes breathtaking. Sometimes there are dark ambient passages like NIN at it’s very best during their instrumental moments, but mostly it’s a trip you can expect from acts like Ah Cama-Sotz or Frames A Second. Mladafronta have the ability to create instrumental music with a meaning and that during 2 CDs, because the remixes (on the second CD) are of the same quality.

It’s possible to float away, but it’s also possible that you hear the transformation of evil pieces.

This music is at its best when you watch a science fiction movie that you don’t understand or just a screen filled with moving colours. Strange creatures, cold futuristic cities, meaningless scenes and distant images. It’s just a pity that the 4 included video clips prove that Mladafronta live is only a man behind his machines and that he forgot to perfect his show with video images…

Still, this is one of the best soundscapes of this year…
