This album is a re-issue of the in 1988 released “Return To Metalopolis”, with two added tracks (“30 Day Due” and “The Heavy Guitar Jam”: real freaky stuff). This former Megadeath guitarist has put together this album on his own, with his brother Mark on drums. Nowadays Chris is playing with a power fusion/rock trio, but these influences are already in his earlier work, and surely in the two added bonus tracks. “Return To Metalopolis” contains a typical eighties metal rhythm section. Both in sound and arrangements. With some jazzy stuff in the solo work. Chris continued in the vein of his earlier Megadeath work, but then without vocals, and added some fusion side steps.

Unlike most six string racing machines, Chris has paid much attention to the catchy rhythm guitars. Most of the time the riffing are more upfront than the lead parts. This can be an advantage for the listeners, who are into good and heavy riffs, but a broader audience could be reached with some vocals. On the other hand, this album would appeal more to instrumentalist audience, if there had been a more leading role for the solos. Nice album, but it’s like it’s hanging somewhere in between, maybe like it’s not completely finished.
