After a short, but threatening intro FUNKER VOGT starts with heavy catchy electronic beats. Songs like “Date Of Expiration”, “This World” and “History” are songs that will keep you going on the dance floor. After that “Obscure Pictures” takes a step back in pace. In this song the Frontline Assembly link is easily made due to the electronics and the distorted voice of Jens Kästel.
“Prisoners Of War” and “Red Queen” show that FUNKER VOGT sound also impressive when they release a ballad. Strangely enough the electronic music sounds more positive than you would expect if you read the lyrics. Although the main topic seems to be war in all its forms, it’s strange that the band is accused of glorifying war, because there’s no motive if you read the lyrics. | |
Survivor is an album filled with catchy electro tunes.
It’s difficult to describe, but this album has the opportunity to give you new energy. You constantly feel the urge to move. Therefore the album is a big smash with even some hit potential. “Lügner” is the settlement with all those German people who created some trouble for FUNKER VOGT. Actually the song title contains the answer. FUNKER VOGT definitely survived… (Beautevil) |
