One of the projects of Chris Pohl is the Gothic synth pop band Blutengel. The female vocals are performed by Constance Ruding (“Vampire Romance Part I & II”, “Our Time”, “Black Wedding” and “Keine Ewigkeit”) and Eva Poelzing (“Angel Of The Night”, “Wonderland” and “Keine Ewigkeit”).
Angel Dust contains mostly relaxed songs with moody lyrics and some up-tempo beats like during “Iron Heart”, “Keine Ewigkeit” and “I Will Follow”. “The End Of Love” reminds of a Diary Of Dreams song and Chris even tries to use almost the same voice as Adrian on this track. | |
Although “Angel Dust Part I, II and III” and “Vampire Romance Part I & II” suggest that there is a theme behind this album, the only thing that is noticeable is the theme of love and lust. Angel Dust surely has its moments although the vocals aren’t always at their best. Still, if you’re into a darker kind of synth pop this album surely can enchant you…
