You wouldn’t expect this kind of music from people who used to play old school hardcore and/or metalcore! Their earlier material still had influences from those heavy metalcore outfits like Liar and All Out War, but there’s virtually nothing left of those influences here. Instead, these five songs (plus an intro) give you a good mixture of thrash, death and black metal. Even I must admit that this mixture isn’t the most original, but when it’s played well, who gives a damn?! DDR really make the most out of the combination of these styles. The production is quite good and the guys have clearly put much effort in the structure of the songs, since all five offer the listener enough in both diversity and musically.

Whether it’s speedy or grindingly slow, it sounds convincing, just listen to a song like the fantastic “Written In Blood”. Singer Jasper (a.k.a. Kudel) has a good voice for this type of music. He has that raw, thrashy voice, but can also turn it into a deep grinding one. I also have to mention the beautiful artwork, which was designed by one Samuel Araya. A professional CD from a promising band!
