A Glance From Unreality is the debut album of these Italian metallers. Influenced by the late eighties heavy metal band Iron Maiden and the progressive Dream Theater, Valas plays a typical mixture of these aforementioned bands and as we are used to from Italian heavy metal bands they know how to play it well. Songs like “Cassandra Crossing” and “Fairy (In The Realm Of Xantor)” are heavily influenced by Iron Maiden and feature excellent guitar leads. The track entitled “Strength Is The Law” is a perfect mixture of Iron Maiden’s rawness and Dream Theater’s progressiveness.

“Walkin’ In The Rain” is a typical song that keeps sticking in your head, already after listening it for the very first time.

Overall a good album with excellent musicians, especially the guitarists Francesco Ferreri and Alessandro Mancinelli and the above average vocals performed by Marco Sivo, but I hope they don’t expect to conquer the world with this album, because we’ve heard it all a couple of thousand times before.
