Liquid Baby is a new band that emerged from the eastern area of The Netherlands. Although new.., they have been playing together in this formation for almost five years under the name of Ulcerate Fester. They have finally entered the studio to record their debut entitled “Liquid Planet”. So it isn’t that surprising that the whole package sounds exceedingly mature.
Inspired by bands such as Kyuss and the mighty Black Sabbath, Liquid Baby doesn’t sound as heavy as the aforementioned bands but the similarities are certainly noticeable in the song ‘Seein’ Is Believin’. Some other influences can be recognized as well, for instance Death Angel in ‘Spanish Harbour’ and Danzig in ‘Cloak & Dagger’
From the first track ‘Spanish Harbour’ until the last one ‘Pity me’ you can hear the experience and the professionalism of the members of Liquid Baby. | |
Super tight played hard rock / heavy metal combined with a remarkable fresh sounding vocalist. This last aspect may very well be the strongest point on this album and a bit of a surprise considering Liquid Baby’s main influences.
Over all a first-rate debut and to me it would not be a big surprise when this band appears on some of the Dutch festivals next summer. Check them out at www.liquidbaby.nl
