These Texans try to be a sort of grindcore version of Victims Family. There are breaks, tempo changes and weird song structures but with a low screaming voice and a harder sound. But it just doesn’t work out. Especially side A is very weak. Side B starts with the Captain Beefheart cover “Ashtray Heart”. Well it’s hard to fuck up the work of a genius so this song sounds pretty good. | |
But the rest is far-fetched and chaotic without being interesting. The band tries to be weird really hard but they’re just not weird enough. And the on purpose political incorrectness doesn’t help either. Song titles like “I’m A Prostitute And Proud Of It” don’t kick up the dust anymore. (Walter) |
