After the debut The State and the million seller Silver Side Up, Nickelback is coming with a live DVD Live At Home. I must say that a band, which is hyped as much as Nickelback, is a guarantee for skepticism when visiting a live show. But afterwards a confession is in order: they rock! As does this DVD. A massive sound, and skilled musicians producing this. The songs are not really different from the studio material but the (more powerful and raw) sound and conviction they are played with, make a difference.

Fourteen songs preformed live on a great registration, recorded in Edmonton, Canada.

Of course with “Breathe”, “Leader Of Man” and “How You Remind Me”. The viewpoint switches are perfectly timed, and the bombastic show elements like fireworks and explosions are overwhelming even in your own living room. No real spectacular solo spots or extended versions (except the acoustic start of “How You Remind Me”), but there are some behind the scenes shots, video clips and a making of documentary. A nice registration of a hard working rock band that can sometimes convince people live, where they cannot with their studio material.
