What’s this??

A psycho tune emanating from the stereo after hitting the play button with the new Bombshell Rocks’ album in the CD player? That’s a surprise. Fortunately, after a few seconds the tune fades away and a pretty fast Bombshell Rocks’ song begins! Yeah, it’s time to rock!

Since picking up the tunes from Bombshell Rocks’ previous album (Cityeats And Alleycats) Sven’s taken a liking to their kind of punkrock. Now they’ve released a new album called From Here And On. Beside the freaky intro tune you get 12 new tunes, all worth listening to.

It would seem the Bombshell Rocks’ members have grown as musicians, the songs on this album are definitely more melodic than they where on their previous album. Perhaps the return of guitarist and songwriter Richard (also played on the first album Street Art Gallery) has had a positive influence on the rest of the band.

This album differs a lot from the previous one. The songs on Cityrats And Alleycats all sounded a bit the same. On From Here And On they vary a lot more between faster songs (“Begging For Mercy” and “Almost Free”) and slower songs (“On My Way” and “Cheated Again”). A lot of the tracks have backup vocals in them, lending them an extra dimension. And Sven, who likes songs with good backing vocals, really likes this album.

Sven can certainly say that this is Bombshell Rocks best release so far. If they keep on releasing albums like this one it will be only a matter of time ‘till they rule the punkrock scene.
