After a VERY blasphemous intro this record comes ripping through your speakers. These “gents” know how to play their instruments and the 8 songs on ‘Kaos Kommand 696’ sound very tight and aggressive! Musically it’s death/black metal that I can best describe as a mix between Marduk and Angelcorpse, both famous ex-Osmose bands. Now, with the demise of Angelcorpse and the departure of Marduk, Osmose have set their hopes high on Impiety, and not without reason my friends! This album is brutal to the core! Impiety hails from Asia, but the band recorded the album in the Berno Studios in Sweden. And they did a fairly good job over there. The sound as well as the production is very good and both add that extra bit of aggressiveness that a record like this deserves, for this is very brutal stuff!! Impiety know how to write some killer-riffs and in addition to this some very good, even recognisable songs! The throat of the singer reminds me of Pete Helmkamp, vocalist of Angelcorpse (R.

I.P.), which contributes to the comparison with aforementioned band. No lyrics are included by the way, but I presume it’s just your daily dose of “Crush all Christians in the most brutal and merciless way!!” Nothing new or spectacular in that respect. The artwork on the cover is very nice but it becomes a bit cliché as it has all been done before. Osmose is however making no mistake in labelling this album one of their top priority releases. So, if you’re into very brutal, aggressive and tight played black/death metal, this is your cup of tea!!
