Damn, talk about something different. This is for all the rock fans with a sense of adventure and/or a daring soul. T(I)NC - with ex-members of Refused and Doughnuts - blend soul, funk, garage, rock and roll and dash it up with a punk, anti-everything attitude. Horn blowers galore on the title track welcoming you into the world of T(I)NC. Mind you, this is an EP with only one song - ‘Bigger Cages, Longer Chains’ - from the upcoming album. All the other songs – except the N.E.R.D. cover ‘Baby Doll’ - are new unreleased songs. Well worth it for the fans.
It’s a spicy somewhat surreal mixture of influences. In that sense they are truly original. They sure give you something to think about; capitalism, poetry, social-economical problems, open borders, personal freedom, you name it. | |
With so many topics this serious it could get too much. I had a hard time trying to figure out whether I like their sound or not. Being a rock fan I really enjoyed the songs ‘Waiting For Salvation’ and ‘A Textbook Example’. But if the song ‘Bigger Cages, Longer Chains’ is characteristic for the upcoming album, I have some serious doubts. Not because this song is bad, but because there isn’t much left to rock. Which brings me back to my opening statement; this is for all the rock fans with a sense of adventure and a daring soul.
