It seems that the upcoming new European Union members have some impressive music to trade with us. After Without Face and Moonlight, DELIGHT prove again that a combination between progressive and gothic rock can work wonderfully well. “Eternity” is the third album by this Polish band. Although opener ‘The Hand’ reminds a lot of their Polish label mates Moonlight, the band slowly evolve into an own style. Paulina “Paula” Maslanka’s beautiful, powerful voice reminds strongly of that from Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil, although Paula’s voice sounds even stronger and more complete. Listen to her emotional voice during songs like “Requiem” and “Whale’s Lungs”.

Musically the band can compete with any progressive rock band. DELIGHT stand for impressive song structures without neglecting emotion. The perfect production by Jaroslaw Baran (who’s also a dominant factor in the band, because he plays guitars, drums, samples and keyboards as well) and the well thought-out musical breaks within each song sound more than perfect. It’s also good to know that DELIGHT don’t forget where they come from. The Polish sung ‘Wieczny Final’ is a great song to remind us where this music originated. Breathtaking and DELIGHTful…
