Blood Red Throne is the band formed by Tchort (Emperor and Satyricon) and Død (Satyricon). After playing black-metal in both above mentioned bands Tchort longed to play more aggressive death metal like he did before with his former band Green Carnation which he founded back in 1990. And with “Monument of Death” Blood Red Throne released one hell of a fucking intense old-school death, thrash debut one can only dream of. Clearly influenced by bands as Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Carcass Blood Red Throne blasts, grinds and thrashes for the total length of the album. And their maniacal fast drummer Freddy B.

certainly has invested a great deal in that. This really is one of these releases a death or thrash metal fan can buy with their eyes closed. The machine gun a-like guitar riffs, no unnecessary solo’s, a low death grunt and a crystal clear production make this picture of death complete. Fans of bands I named above. Run to the local record store and try to get one of the first limited editions of “Movement of Death” (1000 copies”) including a suicide kit with a shaving razor signed with real blood from some of the band members. The record company is not responsible for the damage.
