Lacrimosa is a band that needs no introduction; albums like "Fassade" and "Elodia" regularly spin around in my disc man and are said to be some of the most outstanding albums in the German gothic scene. Having started as a gothic rock band, Lacrimosa took a side lane and now wander around the same path the Sisters of Mercy have walked. With some keyboards and two singers (male and female), "Durch Nacht und Flut" (from the forthcoming "Echos") is, due its mixture with classical rock, a quite refreshing sound in gothic.
The 6-track single, with a radio and an album version that already give you a glimpse of the new album, is completed by 3 remixes and an exclusive b-side. | |
"Und du Fällst" is typical Lacrimosa with Tilo`s vocals on top being accompanied by heavy guitar riffs and smoother piano solos. The other two remixes are hardly worth mentioning, as the Secret-Discovery remix of "Komet" is a failure in attempting to sound `dancy` and the Sabotage Q.C.Q.C.-remix is hardly a song. The last remix, done by Norwegian’s finest, Zeromancer is not included on the promo-version (but available through Kazaa...) and is the proper closing of a tasty preview for the new album. Can’t wait!
