River City Rebels is a grown-up school band who have released her third album. The band around front man Dan (The “Bobber”) O’Day, further consists of Eric Schmidt (drums), Chris Jukosky (bass), Chris Hamm (guitar), and Rylan Perry and Brandon Rainer (sax and trombone). They produce “old fashioned” rebellious, politically aware, yet catchy (party) punk. Compared to their former albums, this one has more structure, without losing power.

Still, it seems to be hard to find the right balance in the leading parts for guitars and horns. Although less than on the former albums, the horns are very prominent, overruling the guitar at times. Nevertheless, this band is still growing, and I can imagine this album being an invitation to seeing them live.
