This is one of those albums that is perfectly suited for the car stereo. Straightforward, pedal-to-the-metal rock containing enough feel-good atmosphere to keep you in a good mood even when you’re stuck in traffic. You won’t find anything new on this album, but the music is very solid, glam rock-based, and excellently arranged and performed. In addition, there’s enough variety on the album to prevent you from getting bored: from happy thumpin’ rock to convincingly melancholic sounds. | |
Former Hanoi Rocks front man Michael Monroe wrote most of the songs together with his long-time pal Pink Gibson, but you’ll also find some covers on the album: Eddie And The Hot Rods’ “Do Everything You Wanna Do”, Casino Steel’s “Jimmy Brown”, and Leonard Cohen’s “Hey That’s No Way To Say Goodbye”. Multi-instrumentalist Monroe (although he really shouldn’t have used this many horns) once again proves that he’s still able to come up with a very catchy rock album.
