Into The Lungs Of Hell is the most social-critic album of God Dethroned to date. An album based on the confrontation of the terrorist attacks everywhere around the world; all these killings in the name of some kind of ‘God’. God Dethroned is here to show you another way of thinking when it comes to the bible and the interpretation of it.
This latest release is the logical successor of Ravenous. Musically not much has been changed and the songs are still of great strength. Although I must admit that I like The Grand Grimoire or Bloody Blasphemy more. The power of these albums is really beyond words. Henri and company did nothing new with Into The Lungs Of Hell, but that does not harm the music. Eight songs, complete with vast and solid riffs and the grasping throat of Henri are here to keep you from the path of God. | |
A new drummer was recruited by God Dethroned. Roel left after the Bloody Blasphemy album. Nile’s Tony Laureano played as his substitute on the Ravenous album but he couldn’t stay for obvious reasons. Janne from The Crown played on the tour and then finally the new drummer came in, Ariën van Weesenbeek. He does a very good job on this new album.
There is nothing more to say about this CD than that it is a solid release by one of the leading Dutch extreme metal bands. Now let yourself flow in the journey into the lungs of Hell and back. Let their music keep you away from the path of God.
