A bit misleading, this release. The front cover shows a kneeling angel on a blue background, the logo reminds me of Nightwish and the band’s name ‘Sweet Silence’ makes you think of a nice Gothic band. Taking a look at the song titles then, will have you frown ("Pocket Nazi", "Encyclopedia Of Murder", "2piR") but the most stunning effect is when you put this CD in your stereo. Why is this? I hear you think. Well, this French band plays nothing but Thrash metal. This album might therefore be in the wrong hands, but my limited knowledge of the world of Thrash can give me some sort of an opinion. The 11 songs on this album are fast, furious grenades mixed with samples and orchestra and certainly sound good (take the intro of "Darkside Of Life" for example that reminds me of early Skinlab at some points).

Even Napalm Death’s "Down In The Zero" pops up in my mind during "Don’t Know" and it has to be said that this is one of the better songs of the album.

Another original thing is the use of French lyrics (in "Pocket Nazi", for example). It’s interesting to hear how this quartet manages to ruin such a romantic language. In this song too, the band shows that they’re very big fans of Pokémon.

Overall this band has made some really good songs, but the lack of an own face (and artwork!) might not do the trick for the band. Nice material, but not stunning enough. And isn’t that what music is all about?
