Metal Rock Cavalcade II is a compilation (double) album released by Low Frequency Records which features bands from Scandinavia. Low Frequency Records is a relatively small label that releases this record to promote their own bands. This compilation is filled with (of course) a couple of bands from their own roster and some other, well (and less) known, bands from the North. Featured label bands are among others: Downfall, Requiem, Kaliban, Embraze, mYON, Cadacross, Solution 13 and Silent Voices.

It’s hard to review this compilation, just because it’s so diverse.

From Clawfinger’s (“Nothing Going On”) crossover to Cathedral’s (“Resisting The Ghost”) doomy stoner to The 69 Eyes’ (“Crashing High”) and Downfall’s (“My Last Prayer”) melodic rock to Cadacross’ (“Morning Star”) black-folk metal. Most other bands are between these extremes and give a nice impression of what these Nordic countries have to offer. If you’re interested in both metal and rock bands from the North, this compilation is worth checking out.
