Coma Star describes themselves as U2 on Jack Daniels and the bio defines their style as hard rock. Having read this you don’t expect a band sounding like Bush with some Placebo and Deftones influences. To really compare Coma Star with the bands aforementioned would be too much of a compliment. The songs are all right and will be appreciated by people who are into bands like Bush.

However when compared to the “big names” the songs lack dynamics and emotion. The rhythm section is tight but it keeps on going the mid-tempo one-way street too much. The musicians, who are very talented, come close to what they aim for but they seem somewhat caged. This not so creative processing makes the album a bit long-winded towards the end.
