Lita Ford has been a pioneer in the female rock scene. Together with Joan Jett, and their band The Runaways, she has been an example for bands like The Donnas. After this band, her career concentrated more on the appealing rock goddess status and gossip about affairs.

Musically this ‘Queen Of Noise’ got more into the American mainstream, and got some airplay with her hit singles “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close Your Eyes Forever”. Both can be found on this CD in a live version, along with a musical overview of her six solo albums. The one cover on the album Rock Candy is a strange experience without Sammy Hagar on vocals and Ronnie Montrose on guitar. As on the whole album, the vocals sound pretty forced.

All right, a voice can be a matter of taste but some songs like the messy up-tempo “Can’t Catch Me”, or the twin solo in “Falling In And Out Of Love”, which make you want to wish for earplugs, could have better been left out.

Overall the sound of this album is pretty thin, while you expect a massive sound with live recordings and 3(!) guitars, bass, keyboard, and drums. The poor reactions from the audience, makes you think this is being recorded in an exclusive club for easy listening performances: not really Rock and Roll. Maybe one more hit single on this album. The studio recorded opening track “Nobody’s Child”, an average radio rock song, could get to the charts with the right video clip.
