Who? The Immortal Lee County Killers II? What’s in a name right? If we Rockezine-reviewers would get paid by the word, this would be my favorite band (and first in the contest; how many times can you mention the name of the band). But we don’t get paid at all so let’s call them TILCK shall we and just mention the name one time.
For everyone who loves noise/blues/rock, this audio sonic overdriven duo will deliver the goods. Filthy blues, slide guitar and vocals right there on the edge of surpassing and down right crazy. And it only takes two people to create this. John Spencer Blues Explosion, Pussy Galore, a bit of Hendrix and straight out of the Alabama sewers. | |
Fucked up blues it says in the biography and that’s probably fucking right. For a second there it felt as if Hendrix was doing Barkmarket with Mudhoney on their back. Really, didn’t last more than a second ‘though because blues is always the starting point for every song on the album.
Is there any rock on the album you will probably ask yourself. Well, this is the swamp in which rock and roll was bred. It doesn’t get closer to its essence then this. So, hell yeah this is rock. No production, distorted slide guitar attacks, a hard pounding snare drum and the blues. Electrifying.
