This is a pretty noisy compilation, in the positive sense, that is; some high quality hardcore punk rock in various forms. Every band is represented by two songs, which is a good thing. The listener gets a better picture that way. Millhouse kicks off with some furious punk; in fact the purest punk on this record. Cookie is the most melodic of the quintet, while Lopez is the dirtiest.

Their sound (and speed) is familiar to Zeke. Weaksauce has a powerful old school hardcore attitude and last but not least we have Quick To Blame with clear metal/hardcore influences. As I said, the quality is pretty high. This, in combination with the variety of styles, makes Name Your Poison Vol. 1 a great compilation for anyone who likes it fast, hard and loud.
